Enfuvirtide is a new type of antiretroviral drug, the pioneer of anti-AIDS treatment drugs in the past 7 years. Enfuvirtide mimics the HR2 domain and is a 36-amino acid polypeptide derived from HIV-1 gp41 protein. It is a selective and effective HIV-1 fusion and infection inhibitor, which can bind to the HR1 trimeric helix and prevent HR1- The formation of HR2 six-helix bundles prevents the fusion of virus particles with host cells.
